# Document Repository: Overview
## Discover what government agencies are planning before they buy.
The GovSpend Document Repository brings public-sector budgets, strategic plans, funding requests, and other agency documents into one searchable library, helping you uncover valuable insights without digging through government websites and PDFs.
Using GovSpend AI Search or the GovSpend MCP Server, you can ask questions in plain language and get answers that point back to the original source documents.

### What's Included in the Document Repository?
The Document Repository includes several types of government documents to help you understand agency priorities, upcoming projects, and potential purchasing activity.
| **Document Type** | **What You'll Find** |
| --- | --- |
| Budget | Proposed and approved budgets from counties, cities, school districts, states, and federal departments. |
| Strategic & Technology Plans | Multi-year plans outlining federal agencies' priorities, goals, and technology initiatives. |
| Capital Improvement Plans | Planned infrastructure projects and capital investments from local governments. |
| E-Rate Filings | School and library technology funding requests, including FCC Form 471 filings. |
| Bid Tabulations | Information about how vendors priced government projects. |
| Funding Requests | Requests submitted to state legislatures for local projects and initiatives. |
| Vendor Signals | AI-inferred potential service providers by category, accompanied by confidence levels. |
> **Note:** Document availability varies by location and document type. Bid tabulations and funding requests are still early-stage collections, with funding request coverage currently concentrated in Florida. *Not seeing the documents you need? Reach out to your Relationship Manager or Customer Support to put in a request.*

### How to Access the Document Repository
Documents in the repository can be retrieved through two GovSpend tools:
**AI Search**
Use GovSpend's AI Search to ask questions about agency budgets, planned investments, funding priorities, and more. Instead of manually searching through individual documents, describe what you're looking for in plain language.
**GovSpend MCP Server**
Access repository information through supported AI assistants connected to GovSpend using the MCP Server. This allows you to incorporate government documents into your existing AI-powered research and workflows.
Both methods can return answers that reference the original source documents, making it easier to verify findings and explore additional details.
