May 2024: Search with Special Characters, Date Fields in Bids, and SSO Updates

This article reviews product enhancements released in May 2024. Read on to review these enhancements, how to find them, and where to learn more.

Search Keywords with Special Characters

Based on customer feedback, we've updated search logic to allow keywords that include a subset of special characters. You can now create searches using keywords that contain any of the following special characters: + - = & : / .

Bids & RFP's: Updates to Date Fields

We've made a few enhancements in the Bids & RFP's module to give you more transparency into the date fields available for each Bid.

How to Find it:

  • Navigate to the Bids & RFP’s module
  • Click the three dots next to one of the columns in your search results table and select “Add Column”
  • Search using the word “date” to find the below two fields:
    • Date Added (GovSpend) - Date bid first ingested in GovSpend
    • Date Updated (GovSpend) - Latest date bid record was updated/modified in GovSpend
  • Select and add the 2 fields as columns
  • Both fields can also be added as filters and exported

  • From your results table, click on a Bid Description to navigate to a bid details page
  • Hover over the dates displayed at the otp of the bid to view definitions of each date field

Single Sign-On: Auto-Verify Users Who Already Exist as a User in GovSpend

For customers with a custom SSO tenant, we now auto-verify users who already exist in GovSpend and are using the SSO URL to sign in for the first time. These users will bypass the registration/verification process and get right into GovSpend!

  • For any account with a custom SSO tenant, below will be the user experience:
    • Users signing in for the first time with no user created in GS will be auto-provisioned, meaning their user will be created on the backend and they will be logged into GS simply by clicking the SSO URL (existing feature)
    • Users signing in for the first time that do have a user already created in GS will bypass the registration and verification  process. When they click the SSO URL they will now be taken directly into GS (new feature)
